Check out these recommended sites for more sports entertainment and opinions. You'll see their URLs pop up on Fantasy Sports 101 from time to time, but get a sneak preview by copying and pasting the URLs below into your browser.

Awful Announcing
Site URL:
http://awfulannouncing.blogspot.com

Delivers smart, sharp criticism of every national sports broadcaster in the industry. All your favorites - Erin Andrews, Emmitt Smith, Stacey Dales, Skip Bayless, Jim Rome and a host of others. The guys at Awful Announcing update the site often, scour the internet for the best photos and videos, and feature an insane amount of feedback from readers and fans.

The Big Lead
Site URL:
http://thebiglead.com

Off the beaten path coverage of the day's major sports stories, combined with girls in bikinis, entertainment news and other topics that can appeal to 20-something sports fans. And refreshingly, two writers put some mainstream national sports writers in their cross hairs. They're active with posts and take the hard work out of finding relevant sports stories.

The Big Picture
Site URL:
http://zachls.blogspot.com/

An in-your-face, no-holds-barred, comical look at the sports world. If you want a laugh and don't mind some foul-mouthed honesty, this is a good site to check out. This trio has been busting chops since 2005, which means their blog has lasted about two years longer than your average site.

Ghosts of Wayne Fontes
Site URL:
http://ghostsofwaynefontes.blogspot.com

Don't be fooled by the name. Two bloggers from the state of Michigan get going on a number of subjects that mainly, but not exclusively, involve sports. The site bounces around adjectives like weird and obscure, and it doesn't lie. If you're looking for detailed sports analysis, start someplace else. If you're looking for entertainment that stems from professional sports leagues, this is the site for you.

Girls Gone Sports
Site URL:
http://www.girlsgonesports.net/

Two ladies, well endowed with huge ... sports knowledge, bring an honest female's view of sports to the table. A lady's touch is seriously lacking in sports, especially when it comes to blogging and analysis, and these are two of the best. Lauren and Mandy, whose profiles are fun to look at by the way, talk about gossip, players' wives, and other off-the-beaten-path stories from the sports world.

Give Me The Rock
Site URL:
http://www.givemetherock.com

A pretty definitive source on fantasy basketball, but a site that shouts out quality work from others that are technically its competition. It features frequently updated Fantasy NBA rankings as well as commentary, blog postings, news and notes. These guys have been going strong since 2004, so GMTR offers plenty of expertise.

Larry Brown Sports
Site URL:
http://larrybrownsports.com/

One man, and not the Lawrence Harvey Brown that has coached seven different NBA teams, talks about all things sports. There's no regurgitation of other people's views and opinions, Brown clearly takes a stance of his own and draws a line in the sand. You may or may not agree with it, but his views are most always well-researched and informed.

Mr. Irrelevant
Site URL:
http://www.misterirrelevant.com/

A couple of pro writers, Chris and Jamie Mottram, blog in addition to their real jobs at Yahoo! Sports and The Sporting News. Their content has a distinct Washington, D.C., feel, but they're not bound to any geographic region. Considering the lack of true journalists in the blogosphere, these are two of the most qualified writers out there.

Roto Whine
Site URL:
http://www.rotowhine.com

This is a noble concept, considering that some 90 percent of fantasy managers end up having something to whine about. But it's more than just sounding off, this duo offers quality fantasy forecasts and analysis. Speak your mind on the site's forums or do it as a guest columnist. No matter what your downfalls are as a fantasy manager, the Rotowhine community understands and still accepts you. Heartwarming, really.

We are the Postmen
Site URL:
http://wearethepostmen.com

Two guys from Chicago blog about a variety of sports topics, college and pro alike. There's no limitation or common theme, just what's on their minds with accompanied photos and You Tube video. Smart commentary from a different angle than your mainstream sites and blogs.
