RkPlayerPosTeam2007 Notes
.Kevin GarnettPFBostonDominated his position in the West… who in the East can stop him?
.Kobe BryantSGLA LakersLook for another 30-5-5 season plus threes, steals and an occasional block. Fantasy player’s dream.
.Lebron JamesSFClevelandImproved a part of his game every season… Here’s to hoping this year it is FT’s (69.8% in ’06).
.Shawn MarionFPhoenix#’s dropped off slightly, but Marion still filled up the box score (1 Trey, 2 Blocks, 1.5 Steals)
.Dirk NowitzkiPFDallasFewer 3-balls in ’06 helped him to 50% on his FGs. There is now nothing Dirk can’t do.
.Steve NashPGPhoenix18 points, 11+ Assists? Impressive. Percentages (53% FG – 90% FT – 45% 3pt)? Unmatched.
.Gilbert ArenasPGWashingtonScoring (28.9 PPG) and Threes (2.8 3PM/G) not the only things Agent Zero does well… how about 5 Boards, 6 Assists and 2 Steals?
.Amare StoudemireCPhoenixShowed his knee was 100% playing all 82 games during an impressive 20-10 season, not to mention a steal and nearly 1.5 blocks/game.
.Yao MingCHoustonLove 25-10-2 including 86% from the line from the center position, but health has to be questioned after last two seasons.
.Chris PaulPGNew OrleansGreat ’06, averaging 17 pts, 9 Ast and 2 Stls… All of that WITH a sore foot and WITHOUT Peja.
.Dwayne WadeSGMiamiOne of the most explosive players in the game sidelined to start the season (shoulder surgery)… Great upside getting a guy like this late 1st or early 2nd.
.Tim DuncanPFSan AntonioNearly a lock for 20-10 and 2+ Blocks, but weighs you down significantly in the FG% category (63.7% in ’06).
.Jason KiddPGNew JerseyNo more wondering if he’s lost a step… Kidd is a triple-double machine.
.Pau GasolCMemphisPlayed only 59 games, but all were at Center… 20-10-3 plus 2 blocks, imagine what he could do with some help under the basket.
.Chris BoshPF,CTorontoWhether or not he qualifies as a center, I will take his 22-11-2… Athletic ability shines through in Toronto’s fast paced Offense.
.Paul PierceG, FBostonWith the cavalry arriving in Beantown, Pierce’s 26 PPG could take a hit. But, look for his assists and FG % to rise at the same rate.
.Chauncey BillupsPGDetroitMr. Big Shot is like a fine wine, getting better with age… 17 points, 7 assists and countless game changing plays in ’06.
.Rashard LewisSFOrlandoWith Dwight Howard cleaning up down low, Lewis should be able to improve on his already impressive 22 PPG and 2.5 3PM/g.
.Andre IguodalaG, FPhiladelphiaOnly thing missing from his arsenal is Threes (0.6/game)… Makes up for it with 18-6-6, plus 2 steals per outing.
.Vince CarterG, FNew JerseyAppears to be healthy and rejuvenated in 2+ seasons with the Nets… Averaging about 26-6-5 since the trade.
.Ray AllenSGBostonEasy for me to say, but off-season surgery on both ankles should not be a problem… His role in Boston could give him even more three’s per game.
.Josh SmithSFAtlantaWhat is lost at the free-throw line (69.3%), is made up for with defensive prowess (3 blocks/1.4 steals).
.Marcus CambyCDenverHuman double-double also combined for over 4.5 steals/blocks per game last season… More amazing? He managed to play in 70 games.
.Deron WilliamsGUtahGetting better everyday, averaging 16 points and more than 9 assists per game in his 2nd season. A better stroke from the stripe would make him an elite fantasy PG.
.Michael ReddSGMilwaukeePPG up for seventh straight season in ’06. With no assists or rebounds, you have to count on Redd’s high scoring (26.7 PPG) and deadly 3-point shot (38%; 2.2 3PM/g)
.Al JeffersonPF,CMinnesotaInstantly becomes the man in Minny… As with most big men, FT% is a liability, but 16 and 11 to go along with a block and a half in under 34 MPG should help ease your mind.
.Caron ButlerSFWashingtonLooks to pick up where he left off before broken hand… Butler was having a career year with 19-7-4 plus 2 steals.
.Carlos BoozerPFUtahPosted a 21-12-3 season while shooting 56% from the field… Unfortunately Boozer is erratic from the line (68%), and seemingly never blocks a shot (0.28 per game).
.Allen IversonPGDenverPoints took a slight hit after the trade to Denver, but Iverson should still get his numbers in the high octane Nuggets offense… could be a steal this late in a draft.
.Tracy McGradySGHouston1st round talent in the 3rd round? That’s what you get when you combine McGrady’s mix of points, assists, rebounds, steals, threes and of course, injuries.
.Dwight HowardCOrlandoUsually not a good sign when you are shooting better from the field (60%) than you are from the free throw line (58%). Regardless, Howard is a beast and figures to atleast maintain his 17 and 12 output from a season ago.
.Kevin MartinSGSacramentoAveraged 20 points and 1.6 3PM with a 47% mark from the floor. Look for Martin to continue his rise as the Kings continue rebuilding.
.Joe JohnsonSGAtlanta25 Points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 2 threes, and a steal had fantasy owners drooling... the number Johnson wants to forget? 25 games missed due to injury.
.Baron DavisPGGolden StateDavis continues to put up big numbers (20 points 8 assists and 2 steals), but missed games are adding up… Davis has missed atleast 15 games for 5 straight seasons.
.Jermaine O’NealPFIndianaNo matter where he is playing when the season starts, you are almost guaranteed a shot at 20-10 and more than 2 blocks per game with O’Neal.
.Gerald WallaceFCharlotteDespite being slowed by injuries, Wallace still managed to combine for 3 steals/blocks per contest. That number, mixed with 18 points and 7 rebounds is a recipe for roto-stardom.
.Emeka OkaforPF,CCharlotteAfter a half-season at Center, Okafor looks to be settling in fine averaging 14 and 11 with 2.5 blocks in ’06.
.Kevin DurantG, FSeattleThe Sonics are starting over with Durant as the centerpiece... Long and athletic, Durant figures to play most of his time at the SF position, while showing off his range and ball handling skills.
.Josh HowardG, FDallasHoward continued to fill up the box score in ’06 with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1.3 3PM, and combining for 2 steals/blocks per game.
.Ron ArtestSFSacramentoA possible trade keeps his true value in question, but as long as he keeps his attitude in check, Artest can do a little bit of everything (18.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 3.4 APG, 2.1 SPG, and 1.3 3PM/g)
.Luol DengFChicago19-7-2, 51.7% FG, plus a steal per contest…hard to find a flaw in Deng’s game.
.Jason RichardsonG, FCharlotte#1 scoring option on a young, talented team. Look for J-Rich to get back to 20+ points to go along with his 2.2 Threes and 5 rebounds.
.Carmelo AnthonySFDenverNumbers dropped slightly with the arrival of Iverson. Will likely go higher based on name alone, but a great pick up at this point in the draft.
.Manu GinobiliSGSan AntonioLimited to less than 28 MPG, Ginobli still managed 16+ points plus a steal and a half. Don’t expect this trend to change.
.Antwan JamisonFWashingtonGreat 2006, averaging 20 and 8 to go along with two 3PM, a steal and a half block.
.Zach RandolphPFNew YorkNew team, new city, same old Randolph. Should be able to match his impressive ’06 stats… 23-10-2, 82% FT, plus nearly a steal and two blocks.
.Tyson ChandlerCNew OrleansOffense may slide (9.5 PPG, 62% FG in ’06), but rebounds (12.4), and blocks (1.77) should hold true.
.Brandon RoySGPortlandOutstanding rookie campaign with 17-4-4, plus a three and over a steal per contest.
.Leandro BarbosaGPhoenixComing into his own as a scorer… 18 Points, 2.4 Threes, 47.6% FG, 43.4% 3Pt, 84.5% FT… 1.2 steals is a nice bonus.
.Lamar OdomFLA Lakers16-10-5, one steal and one 3-pointer per contest… Imagine what he could do in an offense that doesn’t center on Kobe.
.Ben GordonSGChicagoGordon stepped up in ’06, averaging more than 21 points, including two treys in 33 minutes per night.
.Mike MillerSFMemphisThrees should continue to rain down in this offense… Career year in ’06 with 18.5 Pts, 5.4 Reb, 4.3 Ast and 2.9 3PM.
.David WestPFNew OrleansA healthy West could mean big numbers… 18 and 8 a season ago, but also missed 30 games to various injuries.
.Kirk HinrichGChicagoAll-around game finally started to pay dividends in roto-world… 16.6 Pts, 6.2 Asts, 1.25 Stls and 1.8 3PM in ’06.
.Rasheed WallacePFDetroitLook for Wallace to bounce back… Even in a down year (12 PPG, 7RPG), he still racked up at least one steal, block and trey per night.
.Richard HamiltonSGDetroitNever an exciting pick, but Hamilton will almost always net you a 20-4-3 night, just don’t expect much else.
.Tony ParkerPGSan Antonio18 Points and 52% from the floor are nice from the PG spot, but where are the Assists (5.5), Threes (0.2) and FT % (78 %)?
.Memet OkurPF,CUtahMakes up for lack of blocks (0.4) and boards (7.2) at the Center postion, with 3-pointers (1.6) and FT % (78%).
.T.J. FordPGTorontoAs a starter, Ford should have no trouble matching lat season’s 14 Pts, 8 Asts, and nearly 1.5 steals… now if he could only hold off Jose Calderon.
.Nenad KristicPFNew JerseyTough to get a read after only 26 games in ’06 followed by knee surgery… One thing is for sure, Jamaal Magloire wasn’t brought in to sit the bench.
.Andre MillerPGPhiladelphiaNumbers took a hit after the trade from Denver, but they should improve as his young teammates develop.
.Corey MaggetteSFLA Clippers22-7-4 as a starter in ’06… Coach Dunleavy has already said Maggette will start this season.
.Maurice WilliamsPGMilwaukeeSolid fantasy game with room to grow… Averaged 17 Points, 1.2 Treys, and 1.3 Steals in 2006-07.
.Mike BibbyPGSacramentoEven in a down year, Bibby was able to rack up 17 points, 2 treys and a steal.
.LaMarcus AldrigeCPortlandWith Magloire and Randolph moving on, and Oden missing his rookie season, Aldridge should be unchallenged at center.
.David LeePFNew YorkEven with Zach Randolph taking his projected starting job, Lee should still get his 30 minutes per game, and could easily match his 10 and 10 from a year ago.
.Andrew BogutPF,CMilwaukeeSolid year, going for 12-9-3… Great passer could net you 5+ assists from Center with a healthy team around him.
.Raymond FeltonPGCharlotteAddition of J-Rich and subtraction of Brevin Knight should mean an increase from his 7 Assists last season… Shooting (38% FG) still a concern.
.Randy FoyeGMinnesotaWill need to adjust his scoring mentality to thrive at the point… The Wolves apparently see no problems, parting ways with Mike James and Troy Hudson.
.Richard JeffersonSFNew JerseyWith Kidd and Carter running the show, R.J. takes a bit of a back seat… Look for similar output to last year’s 16-4-3 campaign.
.Eddy CurryCNew YorkSharing the low-post with Randolph could hurt his fantasy value… then again, less touches = less opportunity to turn it over (3.6/game).
.Danny GrangerSFIndianaSomewhat of a fantasy enigma… size and athleticism screams of potential, but 4+ rebounds and 1.5 combined steals and blocks screams of disappointment.
.Andrei KirilenkoSFUtahOne of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory averaging 8-5-3… Kirilenko still managed more than 2 blocks and a steal per outing.
.Zydrunas IllgauskasCClevelandThe Big Z just keeps on ticking… 12 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG, and 80% FT last season.
.Monta EllisGGolden StateEllis showed had the goods, scoring 16.5 points on 47.5% shooting… Throw in 4 Assists and 1.7 Steals and you can see how J-Rich became expendable.
.Al HarringtonF,CGolden StateVersatility could finally become an asset with a full season under coach Don Nelson… 16-6-2, plus 1.6 Threes… Center eligibility is a nice bonus.
.Samuel DalembertCPhiladelphiaFinished off his breakout campaign with 10 PPG, 9 RPG, 2 BPG, and 54% FG.
.Rudy GaySGMemphisAfter a slow start, finished his rookie season with just under 14 points and 6 rebounds following the All Star break.
.Larry HughesGClevelandHas yet to find his groove in two seasons with the Cavs… Can’t see him improving much on his sub15-4-4 numbers from a year ago.
.Brad MillerCSacramentoNever hit his stride in ’06, averaging just 9 Points, 6.4 Rebounds and 3.6 Assists while missing 21 games with a foot injury.
.Peja StojakovicSGNew OrleansClassic case of risk and reward… 18 Points, 4 Assists and 2.6 Treys were great, but only lasted 13 games due to a back injury.
.Jameer NelsonPGOrlando13 Points and 4 Assists won’t cut it at the point… Worse yet, new coach Stan Van Gundy will slow everything down which works against Nelson’s game.
.Rajon RondoPGBostonWith all of the scoring options in Boston, Rondo may be able to fill his box score without showcasing his putrid jumper… Managed 3.7 boards, 3.8 dimes and 1.6 steals in only 23 minutes.
.Stephen JacksonSFGolden StateJackson was honored by being named a Warriors captain… With more playing time, he just may become the Warriors MVP.
.Mike Conley Jr.PGMemphisQuickness and vision will go a long way in the Grizzlies’ up-tempo system.
.Ricky DavisSGMiami17 Pts, 4 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 1.5 3pM, 47% FG, 84% FT, 40% 3P… All-around game can’t be matched this late in the draft.
.Ben WallaceCChicagoNearly 11 Boards and 3.5 combined Blocks and Steals in ’06, but 6 PPG and 40% from the stripe tend to take away from those numbers.
.Andris BiedrinsCGolden StateIn 29 minutes per game, Biedrins tallied 9.5 Points. 9.3 Rebounds, 2.5 Blocks/Steals combined, and 60% FG… One drawback was his 52% from the line.
.Stephon MarburyPGNew YorkWith all of the traffic down low, Marbury will again be forced outside where he made 1.7 treys on a career high 4.7 attempts (36%) per game last season.
.Andrea BargnaniFTorontoMinutes and stats began to rise as the season wore on… Finished off 2006-07 with 3 playoff starts in which he averaged 17 Points, 5 Rebounds and 1 Steal in 40 Minutes per contest.
.Shaquille O’NealCMiamiA line of 17-7-2 with 59% FG and 1.4 Blocks, sounds great… Unfortunately Shaq did this over the course of only 40 games in ’06.
.Boris DiawG, FPhoenixThis ranking comes with some projection in mind… 9 points, 4 boards and 5 assists aren’t enough to get Diaw in the Top 101, but versatility and potential are.
.Andrew BynumCLA LakersPhil Jackson doesn’t have to like his young center’s work ethic, but this year he does have play him… Bynum is the only healthy center on the roster heading into the season.
.Chris KamanCLA ClippersNeanderthal or not, Kaman is a solid fantasy option… 10 and 8 with a block and a half per game, plus more chances on the boards with Brand out.
.Devin HarrisGDallasIs this the year Harris shows his Top-5 draft pick talent? With no long range game, Harris will rely on his speed for most of his production.
.Kyle KorverSFPhiladelphiaPhilly’s sixth man averaged 14 Points, 1.8 Treys and 91% FT… If only he could stop losing minutes.
.Tayshaun PrinceSFDetroitHis game isn’t pretty but you know exactly what you are getting… 14-5-3 with the occasional three-ball, steal and block.
.Stephen JacksonSFGolden StateJackson was honored by being named a Warriors captain… With more playing time, he just may become the Warriors MVP.
.Acie Law IVPGAtlantaThere are a lot of different opinions on Law… I think he will surprise some people with 12 point, 7 assist type year.
.Darko MilicicPFMemphisBeginning the season as a starter for the first time in his career, Milicic appears to be in the right system to finally show why he was a #2 Pick.
.Elton BrandPFLA ClippersWill miss the first half of the season, but why not take a flyer on potential second half dominance?
