NBA: Playoffs Notebook - Nuggets in Driver's Seat

April 11, 2008 - The momentum swung back into the Denver Nuggets' favor in the race for the Western Conference's final playoff spot when they escaped Golden State with a 114-105 victory on Thursday night. Denver went a game up on the Warriors and also grabbed the tie breaker, should the two teams finish with identical records. The result also impacted the playoff fortunes of the Dallas Mavericks, who clinched with the combination of their 97-94 win over Utah and the Warriors' loss.

MLB: Lowell to DL, Lowrie Called Up

April 10, 2008 - Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday after he sprained his left thumb during the team's 7-2 loss to Detroit on Wednesday. Prospect Jed Lowrie, the Red Sox's 2007 minor league player of the year, was called up from Triple-A Pawtucket to take Lowell's spot on the roster.

MLB: Sori-Oh-No! - Braves Closer Placed on DL

April 10, 2008 - Atlanta Braves closer Rafael Soriano was placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow tendinitis on Wednesday evening, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Soriano has been nursing a sore elbow since spring training, but the decision to rest him was still made suddenly and as a last resort for Atlanta.
